It was terribly hard to find a free wi-fi spot in Japan 2 years ago.
But now, we have a wonderful app “Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi”.
Don’t forget to download this app before traveling around Japan.
iPhone/iPad/iPod Requires iOS 6.0 or later. or Android
Language: English,Chinese,Korean,Thai, Malay, Indonesian, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese
After download this app, you just need to login with your Facebook/Google+ account or register your general information (e-mail, name, gender, age).
With this app, you are released from a troublesome process such as register your e-mail and agree with the terms and condition at each wi-fi access point.
You just need to find access point from the map and go there, then open “Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi” app and tap “Connect” button to start using internet.
Time limitation is different by spot. You can check each access points’ terms and condition from “SSID List” button.
This app has only a few offline access point maps at first.
I strongly recommend to download online map of your destination before you leave your hotel.
To download the map, click “Offline Map” and tap the city name which you want.
SSID “00000JAPAN” is specially established during a large-scale disaster and anyone can use this for free.
Useful Wi-Fi SSID LIST in Japan
